AZL DCC Decoder was created by markm
Just received a note from Digitrax that their decoder for the newer AZL locos should be available by the beginning of September.

Any definition on "newer"?? The SD70 series?

The term "newer" is one I got from Rob A. at the NZSC. GP-30, GP-38 & next gen GP-7/9 were what I understood from the show. From the SD-70 history I think not. But check the decoder selection tool at the Digitrax site: they seem to be updating it for AZL.

My understanding is that all locos from the GP30 forward are DCC ready for the Digitrax decoders, but not any of the previous releases.

AZL is now using a standardized board in all of the locomotives. The Budd RDCs were the first release with the new board. This was followed by the GP30s and now the GP38-2s. Digitrax is designing a true drop in board that will be a swap out replacement for AZL's PCB. No wiring required!

AZL is making design changes to the SD70s so the 2nd generation due out later this year will have the same standard board.
