Hi Giacomo, and welcome
CT electronics is highly regarded for it's quality and produces smallest decoders that are ideally suited for Z scale.
So I have no doubt it will be perfect for Z, apart from the decoder included in the package. DCX75 is not the one that you want for Z scale!
You would probably choose DCX74z
Having said so, there are many other choices (some of them considerably cheaper) that will work also.
You will find that on this forum there are probably few (if any) people who are using this particular starter set simply because of economies of scale and ease with which you can buy something from US rather than Austria (and prices in UK tend to be expensive anyway...)

Chris
ps just for the record - I am using NCE PowerCab and DCX74z decoders

Giacomo,
unless you have university degree in electronics B) don't bother entering the debate about supply voltage ;) - it is heated, full of misinformation and ultimately probably a waste of time...

NCE PowerCab is absolutely fine for Z and particularly good choice for a small/starter project in Z. I am sure there are others just as good, but I do not have personal experience using them.

I suggest: get yourself PowerCab plus whatever decoder will fit into your loco and try it, before you spend 4x as much on something more fancy

I agree with Chris that CT Electroniks makes great stuff. However, my understanding is the DCX74z is no longer being made and has been replaced by the DCX75 which is supposed to be very small. I have two on order so I will know shortly if they are suitable for Z. I bought the NCE Power Cab and am very happy with it. It's very easy to use and you don't have to worry about voltage. I did buy the NCE circuit breaker in the event of a short.

Good Choice with the NCE system, you will not be dissapointed. B)

We had a club member (Mark D) pickup a new Power Cab this past weekend at the train show, and it went from out of the box to running trains as an extra throttle on the clubs NCE Pro system in minuets. This is why we like NCE.... Power Cabs are perfect home layout units, and have the veristility to act as a addtional throtle at club meets.

FYI: The Smart Booster they offer for the Power Cab is worth the extra $$$$$$. You won't have to stay plugged in via the flat wire at home, and have addded walk around ability as well.

Thanks to everyone for advice, are really useful for me because i have little knowledge of this hobby.

I have other hobbies, figurines, airplane, wooden boats, all static,
but the trains have always interested me, i have chosen the z scale for reasons of space and because see these ants running on the track is very beautiful, even if that scale is difficult for a beginner,
but with patience learn ..... I hope.
