Marklin Pennsylvania 2-6-4 was created by C502ndPIR
I've been looking for some of Marklins Pennsylvania steam locomotives for a while but seems every time I find one it's on a weird website you don't know if you can trust or one thats like $200. Most of them I found were 2-8-2s but I was wondering did Marklin ever make 2-6-4s in Pennsylvania? And were they more than the other 2-8-2s because I don't really want to spend more than $120 since Marklin locomotives aren't that great.

Edit

I've been looking some more I don't really think I'm going to find one for even $150 not even used

I collect the old steamers and I know Marklin made a 4-6-2 (Pacific type) in Pennsylvania (Marklin item #8882). I've seen them go for $100.00 to $150.00 on eBay. And they may have even made the 2-8-2 (Mikado type) in Pennsy, but I haven't seen one. But I KNOW I've not seen Marklin produce any 2-6-4 (Adriatic type) locomotives (at least not in Z scale... maybe in HO though?).

PS the old Marklin steamers, both Mikado and Pacific are great little runners, and if needed the motors are really pretty easy to change out (to a 5 pole even).

Hope this helps,
Joe

I'll be making a K4 (the Pennsy 4-6-2) in a "short" time. As soon as I can get the USRA mikado going, I'll have a 4-6-2 and a 4-8-4 in USRA in short order. I'll be making the Pennsy shell mods immediately after that (basically, I need to change the firebox) so a K4 and an M4 will also be available. As soon as I have some capital, this will get going.

--EDIT-- for those who don't know what I'm up to, this is NOT a modification for Marklin chassis, but a whole new mechanism. Hopefully, it will not only pull more prototypically, but also turn better than the Marklin locos.

I can vouch for the performance of this 8882. I was there when Art put it on the track for the fist time in ??? years just last Sunday. It stumbled a bit at first, but warmed right up and ran well during our test.
