Tony,

David's blog post is right on the money. I got into Z because I thought it was cute :) I still do think it's cute, but it's challenging as all get out. I don't scratch build much of anything but scenery, and even then I rely on manufactured evergreens that I kitbash. Z is a huge challenge to me both mentally and physically. I'm not 30 anymore. Heck, I'm not even 40 anymore

Even though cuteness is still a factor in my attreaction to Z, it's become the challenge that now has hold of me. I see such fantastic modeling on this board that I am willing to put myself to the task of "trying" to emulate what I see. I don't think I will attain what the very experienced folks on this board have accomplished. But if I try my best using every resource I can find, I will have achieved my goal.

That you have decided on N is wonderful. You will be able to go to your local hobby store and be able to buy almost everything you need. Folks there will be able to help you - face to face :) It will be a great experience! If you believe N will be enough of a challenge for you, then N is where you should be. Love what you do, whatever it may be :)

Yes indeed Davids blog post says it all. Thanks Bev and Dave, lol I'm not 30 anymore or 40 either ! not quite 50 yet though !!!
I have alot of experience in modeling but my forte I guess is detail,I did enough 1/1 mechanical work for a lifetime don't want to do it in miniature now, and in N I can super detail my trains with after market products and scratch alot too. My eyes are getting worse by the day so just to work with ease will help me in stay focused on this project. The one thing I hate in all my modeling years is searching for parts online or in person, I love doing research sometimes more than the modeling itself but buying ! I hate. With N I can just buy with relative ease, this is a huge factor for me.
I'll be here looking at all the great work you guys do no doubt and Dave's 1/160 also.

Thanks Tony
