I just found this at Marsilus Trains newsletter..its on the bottom www.n-trains.de/news/1203back.pdf
If I was doing modern trains I would be itching for one of these things.

The newsletter says he will have one at Altenbeken to show.

I worked a bit on it's smaller brother:

The trouble I ran into was the drawbar between the trucks. Using the various RP plastics, they're too thick to be proto or too brittle. I'm still searching for a workable concept.

Well funny enough I have some of these at work. My team maintain six of these beasts designated KXA-C on TOPS

Fully loaded they top out at 166 tonne

With two bogies under each span bolster they'll go round a curve as tight as a dinner plate!

The previous versions were noted for being clad in stainless steel which upped the tare weight quite a bit. The new versions are stripped right down to get the payload as high as possible

Instead of trying to build span bolster in RP build a a shell to fit over either bar stock of Brass or Evergreen styrene as both can be drilled and tapped in addition the use of brass wire and rod can be used with either to enhance your detail
