| 26-2 3:00:57 | soccrdad30 | well, time for me to go. have a good nite! hope to have a few updates Sunday |
| 26-2 2:59:25 | rvn2001 | The one I'm visiting tomorrow was recently damaged by a burst water pipe above some of the layout. |
| 26-2 2:49:08 | DAZed | I used to operate on this KCS layout regularly. Jim was the nicest guy in the world, and I always enjoyed going over there. Unfortunately he passed away about 10 years ago. The layout is no longer. |
| 26-2 2:48:15 | soccrdad30 | I believe it Stony, Fredd always referred to his 'Black hole' |
| 26-2 2:47:08 | GNFan |
Probably a sign on the bathroom door reading: "Do Not Use Shower When Trains Are Operating". |
| 26-2 2:46:40 | stonysmith |
and that room was where his bandsaw was |
| 26-2 2:46:23 | stonysmith | You should have seen Fred Ladd's setup.. everything in his basement except for one room was covered in track |
| 26-2 2:46:02 | rvn2001 | The one I'm visiting tomorrow is N scale and covers half of the basement with double levels. |
| 26-2 2:45:56 | DAZed | here's a video I found... «link» |
| 26-2 2:44:49 | soccrdad30 | wow |
| 26-2 2:43:38 | DAZed | it was completely ops oriented, DCC, almost the entire KCS system in a compressed sort of way |
| 26-2 2:42:50 | DAZed | There was a guy here in DFW (on the Fort Worth side) that had an entire upstairs completely full of HO. Equiv of two big bedrooms, a "great room", and several large closets all full of layout. And there was even a line that ran through the bathroom....not active layout but just to get from one room to the next with the rooms separated by a bath. |
| 26-2 2:39:55 | soccrdad30 | I remember seeing videos of HO or O gauge guys running thier trains across the entire basement or house through all the rooms |
| 26-2 2:38:38 | rvn2001 | That's why my layouts are modular... |
| 26-2 2:38:18 | ejshelton | I was often mesmerized by it |
| 26-2 2:37:47 | DAZed | it was fun to watch. |
| 26-2 2:37:36 | soccrdad30 | Ha! love that Mike. The only way to go! |
| 26-2 2:37:07 | ejshelton | Absolutely....I loved doing that |
| 26-2 2:37:01 | GNFan |
i'm imagining Thom putting up T Trak and ZBend modules, and then building his house around them. |
| 26-2 2:36:42 | DAZed | Thom, well both of you really |
| 26-2 2:36:27 | DAZed | I recall you had the figure 8 "plum full".....loco was knocking the rust off the caboose coupler |
| 26-2 2:36:12 | rvn2001 | Mine, yes, Doug. |
