I don't imagine you can just paint over it? |

but it's too much work to get there |

and I learned that the source car (CSXT) is one that didn't sell well so I was imagining that AZL might work a deal on several sets. |

I am bummed about the bethgon. Had that been an easy conversion, I would have had one of my unit trains pretty well served on a platter. |

You're supposed to light it on fire, Doug. |

lettering on the FT cars does not budge. MTL requires camp fuel, not Microsol, and it is challenging as well. |

once, I was uber conservative and within 4 minutes the paint was coming off. (AZL 2-bay cement hoppers) |
4-9 2:06:03 |

|
it's a game of keeping the paper towel soaked with Microsol, so you usually have to reapply 2-3 times and then take it off at just the right time and hope you only get lettering and not paint. So to start with, you have to be very conservative with timing. |

Doug, there is some applicator that has a needle and a glass bottle.. I'd like to find one of those |

I cut out tiny pieces of paper towel that cover the areas desired to be removed, the place them and then apply Microsol with a qtip. I need to invest in an eye dropper honestly |

do you let the mirco-sol sit or soak? |
4-9 2:02:56 |

|
So for example, I could do the reporting marks on one end of the UP car and some random car handling instructions on the other end and then remove them indepenedently but still "soak" them all at once. |
4-9 2:01:40 |
DAZed
|
the "easy" cars it usually takes 15-20 mins per "element". Sometimes I can do multiple at once though. So minimum hour for the four sides of the car if I do the end reporting marks, which admittedly I don't always do. |
