| 9-8 17:32:19 | rvn2001 | I had fun running trains and talking to people. |
| 9-8 17:32:10 | craZ13 | Finally Mim |
| 9-8 17:31:23 | craZ13 | Looked like you all had an good. Time at nts |
| 9-8 17:30:13 | ejshelton | Hi Jerry |
| 9-8 17:29:48 | GNFan |
Hi, Jerry You made it in. |
| 9-8 17:29:39 | rvn2001 | Hi Jerry. |
| 9-8 17:29:24 | rvn2001 | The only loco that was "iffy" was the SW switchers..IIRC |
| 9-8 17:29:18 | GNFan | That's what I was thinking. |
| 9-8 17:29:10 | craZ13 | Hello all |
| 9-8 17:28:54 | DAZed | that would be the SW1500 |
| 9-8 17:28:00 | GNFan | I'm trying to recall which ZModell decoder for which loco(s) is, by definition "drop in", but that opening the shell off the chassis was not suggested for the faint of heart.... |
| 9-8 17:26:46 | rvn2001 | ..in one kit. |
| 9-8 17:26:24 | rvn2001 | 4 colors of each item... |
| 9-8 17:25:56 | rvn2001 | Archistories has released some new turn-of-the-century houses in brick and a parts kit to change the color of the trim. |
| 9-8 17:23:53 | rvn2001 | I agree. |
| 9-8 17:23:31 | DAZed | but they don't offer a keepalive. Time will tell if it is worthwhile but the theory seems solid |
| 9-8 17:22:36 | DAZed | I try to use Digitrax when I can, because they are less expensive and work well in my experience |
| 9-8 17:21:24 | rvn2001 | I'm glad that he's back in production again...for thoze of you who do DCC. |
| 9-8 17:20:38 | DAZed | that should have said *most worthy above |
| 9-8 17:19:40 | rvn2001 | A keep-alive makes sense for a switcher. |
| 9-8 17:19:37 | DAZed | the one with the "piece" coming off is for the RS3 |
| 9-8 17:19:26 | DAZed | I don't want to spend that much per decoder for everything, but for the GP7's I'm gonna at lease try a couple of them. |
| 9-8 17:19:00 | rvn2001 | I saw those. What is the piece coming off of the side of the decoder? |
| 9-8 17:18:01 | ejshelton | Nope.....computer couldn't open my browser.....so I had to reboot.....twice |
| 9-8 17:17:48 | DAZed | the new release that caught my eye is the new decoder from Zmodell. (the one for the GP7/9 et al) Of all the locomotives that would benefit from the keep-alive (and have room for it), the GP7 is the worthy given it's short wheelbase and tendency to be a switcher during my era. |
| 9-8 17:17:31 | GNFan | Thom, I recall someone at NTS saying that if they could workout the truck kit assembly (sans instructions) that he would make an instructional video. |
| 9-8 17:17:21 | ejshelton | I haven't opened mine.....should have left it with you. Or maybe see if one of my grandkids can do it. |
| 9-8 17:17:19 | rvn2001 |
Too much traffic, Ellen? |
| 9-8 17:16:59 | rvn2001 | Hi Ellen. |
| 9-8 17:16:29 | ejshelton | Hi Doug Mike and Thom. I had trouble getting here.... |
| 9-8 17:15:30 | rvn2001 | I'm also trying to figure out where all of the parts for the truck kit I got from AZL at the show go. |
| 9-8 17:14:42 | DAZed | Thom, that's cool. That station looks nice. And I know you will do it justice. |
| 9-8 17:12:58 | rvn2001 | I am patiently waiting for the new station from Animek. Z scale monster shipped it Saturday. |
| 9-8 17:12:41 | GNFan | Whereas here, the weather report often contain the phrases "marine layer" (low clouds) and "possible sunbreaks" (the low clouds are thin or even absent, upon occasion. :-} |
| 9-8 17:10:27 | rvn2001 | We actually do get a chance of rain here in Missouri. |
| 9-8 17:09:31 | GNFan |
Phew! Barely made it! |
| 9-8 17:09:14 | DAZed | So in Texas, the weathermen play this little game during the summer. They will throw in a chance of rain about every 5 days in the 10 day forecast just to give everyone hope and make their forecasts more popular. Eventually though, they give up the charade and the term "no relief in sight" begins to surface. That's where we are now. |
| 9-8 17:09:02 | GNFan | To get there before Thom, my GN "regional" set is rolling around a track oval. |
| 9-8 17:09:02 | rvn2001 | I have 4 trains running today.....as usual. |
| 9-8 17:08:05 | GNFan | Summers in Seattle are generally milder than other parts of the country. |
| 9-8 17:07:15 | rvn2001 | Hazy sunshine, 91 degrees and humid here. |
| 9-8 17:05:35 | GNFan | Sunny and 65 degrees here - highs in the 70s later today. |
| 9-8 17:04:42 | rvn2001 | Good morning Mike. |
| 9-8 17:04:34 | GNFan | Hi, Thom. |
| 9-8 17:04:22 | rvn2001 | I'll leave that up to Doug. |
| 9-8 17:04:21 | GNFan | Doug |
| 9-8 17:04:12 | GNFan | Hi, Doud. |
| 9-8 17:04:02 | rvn2001 | That's what's important. |
| 9-8 17:03:56 | GNFan |
Is it a good thing or a bad thing for Doug to be mistaken for me? |
| 9-8 17:03:42 | DAZed | but it felt pretty good....definitely is warm but I'm staying hydrated |
