3-9 2:14:56 rvn2001 That's what counts, Doug.
3-9 2:14:32 DAZed Thanks, Thom. I would have done things a little differently, but overall I'm happy with it. (and he's really happy with it)
3-9 2:14:12 ejshelton I didn't get it......
3-9 2:13:02 rvn2001 Looks good
3-9 2:12:22 rvn2001 That's a lot of highway lanes
3-9 2:10:59 DAZed I sent a couple of pics of the bridge to y'all via FB messenger. It isn't done yet but gives you a good idea.
3-9 2:10:20 rvn2001 Nite Ellen.
3-9 2:09:48 ejshelton Nite All
3-9 2:09:39 ejshelton I'll be interested in seeing pics since I spent my childhood there.
3-9 2:09:15 ejshelton I
3-9 2:08:59 ejshelton ZU John
3-9 2:08:44 rvn2001 Nite, John.
3-9 2:08:41 GNFan Bye John.
3-9 2:08:04 soccrdad30 well, time for me to go... have a good nite all!
3-9 2:07:43 soccrdad30 that would be cool, thanks Doug
3-9 2:07:23 ejshelton WOW....Should have my house on it....lol
3-9 2:06:57 DAZed I'll post some pics on FB once we get further along.
3-9 2:06:08 soccrdad30 very interesting
3-9 2:06:08 DAZed heavy industry
3-9 2:05:49 DAZed setting is south Chicago/Indiana in 2004-ish.
3-9 2:05:04 DAZed yeah, it's a nice size layout. Setup for ops, can do continuous running with a few Free-moN modules in place.
3-9 2:04:07 soccrdad30 good size for N
3-9 2:02:13 DAZed guessing....12x20 maybe?
3-9 2:01:23 soccrdad30 Doug, is this layout room sized?
3-9 2:00:14 DAZed yes, he is. He is not hurting for funds....lol.
3-9 1:59:51 rvn2001 A label maker should fix it all... :D
3-9 1:59:39 soccrdad30 sounds like he is putting in some money for his layout
3-9 1:59:22 soccrdad30 great idea
3-9 1:59:13 DAZed he has a few of us working now, trying to get ready for the fall shows and ops sessions he has planned.
3-9 1:58:36 DAZed his layout room is such a mess that his workers spend half their time searching for tools, supplies, etc. So I told him that after my highway overpass was done I'm breaking out the label maker and getting things organized.
3-9 1:58:30 rvn2001 Just don't let it get wet, Doug.
3-9 1:57:20 DAZed he also gave me some colored sanded grout. He had several large boxes of different colors and wanted to declutter (well, I told him we needed to declutter....lol). So we took each box, split it into two quart bags and tossed the rest. He kept one bag of each and I took the others. Probably a lifetime supply in Z.
3-9 1:57:01 soccrdad30 Steve, made one years ago for Ed Turner all out of styrene
3-9 1:56:00 rvn2001 Free is always good...
3-9 1:55:32 rvn2001 I don't usually do that. I try to find the actual building that I want.
3-9 1:55:17 DAZed my friend gave me a grain elevator today that he bought and thought (correctly) that it was scaled too small for N. It wasn't a great model overall either, but I figured it could make a good temp structure. (and it was free)
3-9 1:54:44 soccrdad30 I have done that before
3-9 1:54:29 soccrdad30 right, I agree.
3-9 1:53:57 DAZed I mean, some serve a purpose. For very little $$$ you can get something that "stands in" if nothing else.
3-9 1:51:31 soccrdad30 and Doug, I also agree with you some of the poor quality 3d prints that are out there
3-9 1:46:44 rvn2001 I agree.
3-9 1:46:27 soccrdad30 I like those type of buildings, they add more 'authentication' to the layout and scenery
3-9 1:43:50 rvn2001 I noticed that.
3-9 1:43:42 DAZed can't type
3-9 1:43:37 DAZed *buildings
3-9 1:43:20 DAZed most of the building are of a specific prototype and he mentioned it in the descriptions
3-9 1:42:39 DAZed he's a good modeler.
3-9 1:42:34 DAZed yeah, I think definitely a "get what you pay for".
3-9 1:42:31 soccrdad30 but, not at the same quality I bet
3-9 1:42:19 DAZed this is across scales, not Z specific
