28-4 17:46:18 soccrdad30 I like those little mom & pop's laser kits
28-4 17:45:47 soccrdad30 Thom, I am thinking of lighting up the bridge, thinking of using a just Woodland plug kit for it
28-4 17:45:37 DAZed I bought some Z pumpjacks that are laser cut wood on eBay. I think it is one of the sellers John has talked about.
28-4 17:43:44 GNFan "our shell" = "outer shell"
28-4 17:43:27 rvn2001 I would have water in the basement at my last house if the water table got high enough. The water would creep in between the walls and floor.
28-4 17:43:05 GNFan Given our reputation for rain around here (some of it deserved, some of it exaggerated to scare off the curious), I am sometimes surprised the site- or construction- choices people make around here. My high school was built in the late '60s, and the our shell was metal, specifically chosen to rust *a little* (to appear weathered), based on Southern California weather...except we're not Southern California. (duh!)
28-4 17:38:58 ejshelton Ours was that way also......
28-4 17:38:35 soccrdad30 we were lucky, the builder of our house crowned the yard, in some places there is a 2' drop
28-4 17:37:08 ejshelton My neighbors basement would flood but we were on a slap and just high enough.....never got up to the house
28-4 17:36:24 soccrdad30 it can't keep up with any heavy rain
28-4 17:36:10 soccrdad30 Ellen, our street corner is that way
28-4 17:35:37 GNFan I'm on the downslope of one of the city's seven hills, but still maybe 100 feet above the nearest body of water. Generally safe from floods, but no guarantees.
28-4 17:35:33 ejshelton We also have that problem occasionally. My street would flood at the house i used to live in.....but it usually drained in a few hours
28-4 17:34:43 soccrdad30 take your Z with you?! :)
28-4 17:34:12 rvn2001 I actually had to go to my Mom's house once because I couldn't get back to my house after going grocery shopping.
28-4 17:33:46 soccrdad30 we live in a valley, have been very lucky. no flooding yet
28-4 17:32:57 rvn2001 I've experienced the same thing around here, Doug.
28-4 17:31:55 ejshelton It could come our way tho
28-4 17:31:26 rvn2001 No flooding here.
28-4 17:31:21 DAZed We had to backtrack 3times to get out of our neighborhood
28-4 17:30:12 DAZed Barely
28-4 17:29:55 rvn2001 Are you above the tide?
28-4 17:29:45 soccrdad30 we have had a light rain all morning
28-4 17:29:23 DAZed Just got done with brunch. Lots of flooding here this morning
28-4 17:28:43 DAZed HowdyZ
28-4 17:28:27 rvn2001 What's Doug up to today?
28-4 17:27:06 GNFan Hi, Doug.
28-4 17:26:46 rvn2001 Hi Doug.
28-4 17:26:44 ejshelton Hi Doug
28-4 17:26:36 rvn2001 Your bridge project is proof of that, John.
28-4 17:26:24 soccrdad30 Hello Doug
28-4 17:26:18 soccrdad30 sometimes I have to peek over the lid to do that :)
28-4 17:25:48 ejshelton Yup......I have trouble doing that.....
28-4 17:25:39 soccrdad30 I try to too
28-4 17:25:24 soccrdad30 that is a good thing Ellen
28-4 17:25:02 ejshelton Thom usually thinks outside the box
28-4 17:24:35 rvn2001 They might even have brown/muddy colors.
28-4 17:24:27 soccrdad30 the thickness of 3/16" should be fine
28-4 17:23:42 soccrdad30 figures....
28-4 17:23:21 rvn2001 The price might be different at the store.
28-4 17:22:40 soccrdad30 thanks for the link. I remember paying 5.99 for the black
28-4 17:21:26 soccrdad30 I see that!
28-4 17:21:07 rvn2001 They have other shades of blue too.
28-4 17:20:37 rvn2001 «link»
28-4 17:19:21 soccrdad30 I usually go to hobby lobby for my shopping
28-4 17:18:32 soccrdad30 I can check after work Monday or Tuesday
28-4 17:17:39 rvn2001 Blue foamboard with some gloss Mod Podge streaked on it would probably work.
28-4 17:16:07 soccrdad30 I could go back and see if they have any blue 1/4" foamboard, I have not glued them yet
28-4 17:15:20 soccrdad30 did not think about that
28-4 17:15:06 soccrdad30 black, sorry
